Zuyu vs MeAgain: A Full-Featured GLP-1 Companion, or a Private Record

MeAgain is one of the two largest, most established GLP-1 tracking apps in the US stores. It is also the most feature-dense app in the category. If you are comparing it with Zuyu, you are comparing two products that have made opposite bets about what a GLP-1 app should be.

MeAgain's bet is breadth: one timeline holding your shots, your meals, your weight, your photos, your side effects and an AI companion, so nothing about your day lives somewhere else. Zuyu's bet is narrowness: a short check-in, a record that stays on your phone, and a summary you can hand to a clinician.

Feature comparison

What MeAgain does better

It holds your whole day. Food logging by photo, barcode, voice or search is genuinely useful on a GLP-1, where appetite drops and hitting protein becomes the actual problem. MeAgain's nutrition targets are built around protein, fiber and hydration rather than a calorie deficit, which is the right framing for this medication class. Zuyu does not log food at all.

Progress you can see without a scale. Progress photos and non-scale milestone cards are in MeAgain and not in Zuyu.

It is more pleasant to use daily. An AI companion character, widgets, five ways to log a meal, these are real retention features. Zuyu is deliberately plain, and plain is not for everyone.

It connects to your other health data. Apple Health on iPhone and, per MeAgain's own materials, Health Connect on Android. Zuyu offers neither.

It has been used by far more people. MeAgain is one of the most established, widely used apps in this category, against an app released in September 2026. That difference will narrow, but it is real today.

What each app declares about your data

This is the sharpest difference between the two, and it is worth setting out precisely, using each company's own declarations rather than anyone's characterisation.

MeAgain's App Store privacy label, as displayed on 22 September 2026, declares:

• Data used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies: identifiers and usage data.
• Data linked to your identity: health and fitness data, purchases, contact information, user content, search history, usage data, sensitive information and diagnostics.
• Stated purposes include analytics, product personalisation, app functionality and the developer's own advertising or marketing, with advertising data listed under both advertising and analytics.

Its Google Play data-safety summary states no data is shared with third parties. Those two first-party statements are difficult to reconcile, and we are not going to try, we are reporting both. MeAgain's privacy policy states it does not sell personal data as sales are defined under a specific Nevada statute, and separately that it does not sell consumer health data. It does not name its analytics or advertising vendors.

Zuyu's App Store privacy label shows only a "data not linked to you" section: purchase history, a user ID, and crash and diagnostic data. There is no tracking section and no linked-to-you section. Zuyu's privacy policy states it contains no advertising, tracking or attribution software, that health entries are not transmitted to Nb41 Labs, and that it does not use iCloud Drive, CloudKit or any other cloud service to store or sync entries. It does name two processors it uses: Sentry for crash diagnostics and RevenueCat for subscriptions.

MeAgain does not publish where health entries are stored. We could not find a statement either way, so we are not asserting one.

The appointment question

If the reason you track at all is to have something useful to show a clinician, there is one concrete difference to know about: MeAgain's own comparison page states that Shotsy, not MeAgain, is the app to choose when PDF export is the deciding factor, which is its own way of conceding it does not offer PDF export.

Zuyu's paid tier is built around exactly that deliverable, a clinician report covering the last 7 days, the last 30, and the period since your last visit, with things worth mentioning, questions for your clinician, and PDF, print and share. What you have logged is assembled into a document you can view, share and print, as it ships today in Plus; it organizes your entries rather than interpreting them, it does not diagnose, score risk, or recommend treatment. The free tier includes an outline of what the report contains, plus raw export of everything you have logged.

MeAgain is better at capturing the day. Zuyu is better at turning it into something you can hand over. That is the trade.

Pricing

Zuyu: free tier, then Plus at $9.99 per month or $59.99 per year, published on the App Store listing and in the terms.

MeAgain: free to download with a free tier it describes as core tracking, then a Premium subscription. Its price is unusually hard to establish. MeAgain publishes no prices on its own site and points users to the store, and its App Store listing has shown nine in-app purchases all named identically, ranging from $14.99 to $119.99, with no billing periods displayed. We cannot tell you what you will be charged; check the store page on the day.

Which may fit you

Choose MeAgain if you want one app for meals, weight, photos, side effects and doses together; if protein and fiber tracking is part of how you are managing appetite; if you want Apple Health or Health Connect integration; if a friendlier, more engaging daily experience helps you keep logging at all; or if you want the reassurance of a heavily reviewed app.

Choose Zuyu if the record itself is the point: no account on either platform, health entries that stay on the device, no advertising or tracking software in the app, a clinician report you can print or share, and raw export included free on every plan. Also if your phone is short on space, 33.7 MB against 135.4 MB.

Consider using both if you like MeAgain's food logging but want your medication and symptom history kept separately and privately. Nothing stops you, and some people will find that is the honest answer.

Questions people ask

Does MeAgain track me across other apps?

Its own App Store privacy label declares that identifiers and usage data may be used to track you across apps and websites owned by other companies. Its Google Play data-safety summary says no data is shared with third parties. Both are the developer's own statements.

Does MeAgain need an account?

We could not establish this from any published source. Its terms say a user "may be required" to sign up, which is not an answer. Zuyu requires no account on either platform.

Can I get a PDF for my doctor from MeAgain?

MeAgain's own comparison page points readers to Shotsy when PDF export is the deciding factor. That page is under their control and may change, check it if this matters to you. Zuyu includes a clinician report with PDF, print and share in its Plus tier.

Does Zuyu track food?

No. Zuyu records medications, doses, injection sites, supply, symptoms, weight and notes. If food logging matters to you, MeAgain does it far better, or use a dedicated nutrition app alongside.
